It is an easily mobile transparent liquid with a yellow to yellow-green, amber color and a characteristic pink odor. It contains the following macrocomponents: citronellol, geraniol, nerol, normal paraffinic hydrocarbons, etc.

Aromatherapy with rose oil reduces the level of cortisol (the stress hormone) and has a positive effect on depressive conditions. Rose oil is used in massages, baths, compresses, inhalations. It is used for stress, fearful states, depressions, nervous tension, insomnia, nightmares during sleep, headache, high blood pressure, arrhythmia, blood circulation disorder, gastric ulcer on a nervous basis, irregular menstruation, internal and external infections, aphthae, dermatoses, skin burns and wounds, radiation skin burn and skin aging, cough, hay fever, inflammation and abscesses of the respiratory tract.
